Capability

Examiner & Regulatory Readiness

Walk into an exam with the framework, the documentation, and the answers already in place, not assembled the week before.

Our view

Exams are won before the examiner arrives. The institutions that come through clean are not the ones with the fewest issues; they are the ones whose framework, documentation, and self-identified findings are already in order, so the exam confirms what they already knew. We build that readiness, and we translate examiner language into work your team can actually do.

When this is the work

When an exam is coming and readiness is a fire drill.

A regulatory exam or a matter requiring attention is on the calendar, and the framework and documentation are not ready to be shown. We get ahead of it.

  • An exam or a follow-up is on the calendar
  • A finding or MRA needs a credible response
  • Documentation would not withstand examiner review

How we work it

The Ore to Edge Discipline

The same three-phase discipline on every engagement, adapted to the demands of this work. See the full discipline.

01 · Research and Analysis

Assay and refine

  • Partner: the framework, the documentation, and the open items with your team
  • Collect: the relevant guidance and what examiners are focused on now
  • Filter: the gaps that would actually draw a finding

Example outcomeA clear view of the gaps that would draw a finding

02 · Application and Solutions

Alloy and form

  • Close the documentation and framework gaps
  • Build the response and remediation plans for open items
  • Prepare the narrative and the evidence

Example outcomeClosed gaps and credible remediation plans

03 · Execution and Realization

Forge and hone

  • Stand ready through the exam with live support
  • Track remediation to closure and keep the framework current

Example outcomeA clean exam and findings closed before they recur

What you get

An exam that confirms what you already knew.

  • A framework and documentation that withstand review
  • Credible responses and remediation plans
  • An exam-ready evidence and narrative pack

Common questions

Examiner & Regulatory Readiness, in plain terms.

What does examiner readiness actually involve?

Getting the risk framework, policies, and documentation into a state that withstands review; identifying and addressing the gaps yourself before an examiner does; and preparing the evidence and narrative so the exam confirms your own assessment rather than surfacing surprises.

We already received a finding or MRA. Can you help with the response?

Yes. We help build a credible, realistic remediation plan, sequence the work, and document the closure so the response holds up and the issue does not recur.

Which institutions is this for?

Community and regional banks and other regulated institutions facing examination. The work draws on global-bank risk practice, scaled to what a smaller institution actually needs and can run.

Is this the same as enterprise risk management?

Related but not the same. Enterprise risk management builds the framework. Examiner readiness makes sure that framework, its documentation, and its open items are ready to be shown and defended under regulatory review.

Be ready before the examiner is.
